Writing resumes: Should it feel like the hardest part of the job?
Does anything inspire more procrastination than writing resumes? Even the best writers find updating that professional biography a grueling task. In fact, many of us find it so difficult we've let jobs we might be well suited for get away because we sent in an outdated resume...or didn't send one at all.
But writing a resume doesn't have to be harder than the job itself. If you break your resume down to small chunks, and concentrate on refining one piece at a time, you can get it done well and in time for that next great opportunity.
Keep in mind that your resume is only part of the correspondance involved in applying for a job. Writing resumes is actually the second thing you need to worry about as you apply.
